If you live in the Montreal area you already know about the BIXI, those community-based bike that you can borrow at one of the many stations to cruise around the city. If you use them frequently, you know that it can be hard to know if there’s any bike left at your usual station or where’s the closest station from your departure or arrival point.

That’s where your iphone comes in handy. for 0,99$, I suggest you download BIXOU, an app created by Richard Markiewicz. You can view the location of the nearest station and how many bikes and empty spaces there’s left in real time, create favorites, search by name and intersection and calculate the distance and approximative time (walking or cycling) between you and the station of your choice.
