NICE!

Today we went to the Benelux where the 2009 GAMIQ nominations were revealed. We were happy to find that our last album “Comme à la Télévision” is nominated in the Hip Hop Album of the year category.

Now that the jury has made is selection, it’s YOUR time to vote for your favorite albums/artists. You have till september  19 to make your choice at the GAMIQ website!

For those who missed it, here’s the video of the “Omnikrom’s playlist @ MusiquePlus”. You’ll see which clip made the cut. In case you don’t know, we were asked to select 15-20 clips (some must be recent) then the M+ crew make a selection with that. I was a bit disapointed that the Michael Jackson and Bone Thugs clips didn’t made it but some of them had to.

The people who follow me on Twitter already knew that I was working on a “special project” and here it is. A tribute to Michael Jackson Mixtape called “On est tous des Jackson”(we all are Jacksons) where I reinvented 5 of his classics.

I kept the original beats to keep most of the flavor of the tracks but the subject and lyrics are different while keeping the original mood.

Michael Jackson was the biggest musical icon and my main influence so this Mixtape is my way to express that. Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did doing it.

- 1 cardboard Gabbo to assemble

Each t-shirt is associated with a track from the album; Les Tronches, Salir l’écran and Je crie encore (Bangarang). They’re gonna be available starting july 30 at our show at L’Olympia. You can also pre-order them at the online shop and we will ship them starting july 31.

This weekend, it’s Off The Hook’s super sidewalk sale so it’s the perfect time to fill your closet for cheap. 30$ sneakers, 20$ hoodies, 10$ t-shirts and more. It’s their biggest sale EVER!!!

Ok I didn’t know anything about that chinese (Hong Kong) movie but after seeing the final battle scene (spoiler) I definitely wanna see that! The movie’s Flash Point (”Dou fo sin”) and it was released back in 2007. Really violent.

I think this picture speaks for itself. The Impérial was packed yesterday for our show at the Quebec City Summer Festival. In fact, it was so packed that some of the usuals “late 20’s early 30’s” standing on the back told me they don’t understand why the balcony was close.

Anyway, it was our best show in Quebec City so far. We really thank you for being there and we hope that you’ll come see us again!

Yesterday we did a show at the Jonquière en Musique festival. We didn’t know what to expect, but the show was amazing! If you we’re there and took pictures, you can send them to us and i’ll post them. Thanks to the 6000 peoples who came, you guys we’re fantastic!

We don’t come to Saguenay everyday, but I bet we’ll come back…

Pour le 30e anniversaires de la série Mobile Suit Gundam, Bandai ont fait construire une réplique du Gundam RX-78-2 de 60 pieds de hauteur! J’aimerais bien voir ça en vrai! Dommage qu’il ne se transforme pas réellement en avion…

Wow!
Sérieusement je pourrais ne plus rien écrire, car “wow!” ça résume très bien le feeling qu’on a eu à faire le show à Québec. Habituellement je suis pas vraiment nerveux avant de faire un show que ce soit devant 100 ou 5000 personnes. Mais de jouer devant une foule de 150 000 à 200 000 personnes…c’est complètement fou!

C’était aussi notre 1ère St-Jean à Québec et je dois avouer que le monde sont sur le party pas mal, héhé. Étrangement. le gars le plus saoul de tout le backstage c’était Richard Séguin….les vieux aussi font le party à la St-Jean!
